XRP addresses work slightly different to most other cryptocurrency addresses, (as explained in the XRP Deposits Guide). Often a Destination Tag is required to further direct the XRP to your wallet.
Most XRP addresses are specific to only one user. These addresses are unique and therefore do not require a Destination Tag to be attached to the XRP withdrawal.
Users that have an XRP wallet hosted by an exchange – such as LBX - DO require a Destination Tag. This is so that when an XRP transaction arrives into LBX’s main wallet - we can then further direct the funds to your specific XRP wallet.
LBX cannot add Destination Tags to XRP transactions. Due to the fact that most other exchanges require the use of Destination Tags, you are unable to withdraw XRP to another exchange from LBX directly.
If you wish to transfer your XRP into a different exchange, you can withdraw your XRP to a ‘private’ wallet – that has an XRP address unique to you alone and does not require the use of Destination Tags – then transfer from your private wallet to the other exchange.
This the most straightforward process to secure your XRP into your own personal wallet.
